Soul Stirring

Some places feel made for photographers. Seville is one of them. And once you’ve spent time here with a camera in hand, it’ll become clear why.

Light cuts down narrow streets with an almost theatrical precision, then disappears just as quickly, replaced by deep shadow and silence. The walls hold color in a way that feels almost unreal. Terracotta, ochre, white. Absorbing and releasing the sun at different hours as if the city itself is performing. Doorways frame moments before they happen. Shadows fall in perfect geometry. Movement and stillness coexist on the same corner, sometimes within the same frame. Everything feels composed, even when it isn’t.

You don’t have to search for it. It’s already happening right in front of you. In the texture of a tiled courtyard, in the way a figure moves through a shaft of afternoon light, in the stillness that settles over a plaza just before evening.

This workshop is about stepping into a more demanding visual environment and rising to it. Moving with confidence and a sense of command while the city comes to you. Let it build.

There’s a carefully crafted beauty here, rooted in centuries of artistry and boldness. The architecture is direct. The light is intentional. The energy is impossible to ignore. It asks something of you, and that’s exactly the point.

Morning opens things up, softening edges and drawing people out slowly. Evening changes the terms entirely. The light turns golden, then amber, then gone. The city shifts into something more intimate, more layered.

You stop second-guessing.
You trust what you see.
You act on instinct.

The gap between noticing something and capturing it begins to close.

And when it clicks, you’ll know.

This is where your work evolves. You cut what doesn’t matter and keep what does. The edits become clearer. The vision sharpens.

Seville has that kind of pull.

Step into it.

"Tony has been immensely helpful in helping me become a photographer as opposed to someone who just takes pictures. His persistent approach to helping me find my unique voice has been invaluable."

"I couldn’t ask for a better thing than a fabulous week with Tony to get the creative juices going."

The A’s to your Q’s

  • This workshop is designed for photographers who already understand their camera and are ready to go deeper.

If you’re looking to refine your eye, develop your voice, and create work that feels more like you—this is for you.

This is not intended for complete beginners.

  • You’ll leave with a body of work that feels unmistakably yours—and a clear understanding of how to create it again.

More clarity. More intention. A stronger point of view you can return to.

  • We keep groups intentionally small to allow for meaningful feedback, real conversation, and one-on-one guidance throughout the experience.

  • Our days are designed around great light, strong locations, and steady forward movement in your work.

We begin with a morning shoot, followed by time to reset, eat, or review your images.

Each day typically includes dedicated critiques—a central part of the experience—where we refine your work, sharpen your decisions, and deepen your point of view.

We head back out for an evening session, applying what you’ve just learned while it’s still fresh.

The rhythm is simple: shoot, review, refine, repeat.

  • Tuition covers six days of thoughtfully selected locations—each chosen for its beauty and photographic potential—along with daily critiques and focused instruction.

It includes one-on-one guidance from Tony while you’re in the field, along with a group experience that is both supportive and creatively energizing.

And, in Italy, one round of gelato.

  • This is an immersive, work-focused experience.

Your time is intentionally spent shooting, editing, and participating in critiques. The days are full, with limited downtime for leisurely activities or extended time away from the group.

  • Any digital camera is welcome.

A working knowledge of Lightroom is recommended, as we’ll be reviewing and refining your images throughout the workshop.

  • A reliable laptop (with plenty of storage, a strong battery, and your charger) running the latest version of Lightroom.

Your camera in excellent working condition, along with any lenses you love to shoot with.

Extra memory cards and batteries are essential. Comfortable shoes are a must.

    A good attitude.

  • Expect a fair amount of walking and time on your feet while shooting on location.

You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable moving throughout the day.

  • You’re free to choose accommodations that fit your preferences and budget.

We’ll share where we’ll be staying and holding critiques so you can book the same hotel or stay nearby—whatever feels right for you.

  • Travel, accommodations, meals and entrance fees.

  • We shoot in all conditions.

Some of the most compelling work happens when things aren’t perfect.

  • PB is designed for photographers who are serious about making exceptional work—and we protect that experience for everyone involved.

All equipment should be fully updated and in excellent working order before arrival. Time spent troubleshooting takes away from the group, and we keep the focus where it belongs: on the work.

  • Due to the limited size of each workshop, all payments are non-refundable.

We strongly recommend securing travel insurance to protect your investment. Please review our Terms of Service below for full details.

  • These are intentionally limited. They tend to fill quickly and are often secured early by those who have been waiting for them. Arrive on time to secure your spot.

You can too.
