We’re ready for you.
We want nothing more than for you to show up as yourself in your photography and in your life. We are excited to see what YOU bring to the table, and we’re standing by, ready to help you when you show up for your dreams.
The Secret Sauce
Most photographers are taught everything except what makes an image work.
Settings. Gear. Techniques. Presets.
All of it useful. None of it complete.
Because the photographs that stop you, the ones that feel finished, the ones that stay with you, are built on something else.
A recipe.
Not written down.
Not shared openly.
But consistent.
The same underlying structure. The same decisions. The same sense of what belongs and what doesn’t.
You’ve seen it.
Images that feel inevitable.
Nothing missing. Nothing extra.
They just work.
That is not luck.
It’s not talent.
It’s knowing the secret recipe.
This is the part that rarely gets taught. The part that sits behind the work. The part people circle for years, trying to figure out why some images land and others don’t.
We’re not circling it.
We’re going straight to it.
No techniques to memorize.
No gear to rely on.
No distractions.
Just the recipe itself.
You’ll start to recognize what needs to happen inside the frame. What to include. What to remove. When it’s done.
You stop guessing.
You stop hoping.
You start building.
Missoula will be our backdrop, but The Secret applies anywhere, anytime.
Any subject. Any style. Any camera.
This is how you make photographs that sing.
Not sometimes. Every time.
And once you know it, you’ll never forget it.
It’s been hiding in plain sight. Now we’re ready to let you in on it.

The A’s to your Q’s
-
Our daily schedule for The Secret is designed to maximize great light, meaningful opportunities and real transformation in your work. We begin with a morning photo session on location, followed by a break to eat, reset, or spend time with your images.
Then we come together for daily lectures and critiques, which are a central part of The Secret. This is where the work deepens. We look closely at what you’re making, refine your decisions, and uncover what’s actually yours. The lectures are focused, intentional, and built to shift how you see—so you’re not just taking better photos, you’re making more intentional decisions and developing a clear point of view.
We then head back out for an evening shoot, applying what you just uncovered while it’s still fresh. You’ll have time to enjoy a relaxed dinner before getting rest for the day ahead.
-
This workshop is designed for photographers who already understand their camera and are ready to go deeper.
If you’re looking to refine your eye, develop your voice, and create work that feels more like you—this is for you.
This is not intended for complete beginners.
-
You’ll leave with a body of work that feels unmistakably yours—and a clear understanding of how to create it again.
More clarity. More intention. A stronger point of view you can return to.
-
We keep groups intentionally small to allow for meaningful feedback, real conversation, and one-on-one guidance throughout the experience.
-
Tuition covers six days of thoughtfully selected locations—each chosen for its beauty and photographic potential—along with daily critiques and focused instruction.
It includes one-on-one guidance from Tony while you’re in the field, along with a group experience that is both supportive and creatively energizing.
And, in Italy, one round of gelato.
-
This is an immersive, work-focused experience.
Your time is intentionally spent shooting, editing, and participating in critiques. The days are full, with limited downtime for leisurely activities or extended time away from the group.
-
Any digital camera is welcome.
A working knowledge of Lightroom is recommended, as we’ll be reviewing and refining your images throughout the workshop.
-
A reliable laptop (with plenty of storage, a strong battery, and your charger) running the latest version of Lightroom.
Your camera in excellent working condition, along with any lenses you love to shoot with.
Extra memory cards and batteries are essential. Comfortable shoes are a must.
A good attitude.
-
Expect a fair amount of walking and time on your feet while shooting on location.
You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable moving throughout the day.
-
You’re free to choose accommodations that fit your preferences and budget.
We’ll share where we’ll be staying and holding critiques so you can book the same hotel or stay nearby—whatever feels right for you.
-
Travel, accommodations, meals and entrance fees.
-
We shoot in all conditions.
Some of the most compelling work happens when things aren’t perfect.
-
PB is designed for photographers who are serious about making exceptional work—and we protect that experience for everyone involved.
All equipment should be fully updated and in excellent working order before arrival. Time spent troubleshooting takes away from the group, and we keep the focus where it belongs: on the work.
-
Due to the limited size of each workshop, all payments are non-refundable.
We strongly recommend securing travel insurance to protect your investment. Please review our Terms of Service below for full details.
-
These are intentionally limited. They tend to fill quickly and are often secured early by those who have been waiting for them. Arrive on time to secure your spot.
You can too.
